We live in western Alaska, just outside of Nome. In addition to sled dogs, we also have chickens, a cat, and guinea pigs. We have a big garden and greenhouse on our six acres. We are able to run the dogs right out of our yard, making it a great location for training.

Nome is located on Norton Sound of the Bering Sea, and the winters here are known for being intense, with blizzards sweeping across the tundra and no trees to slow them down. Every March, the Iditarod comes to Nome, with hundreds of sled dogs finishing their 1,000 mile trek on Front Street.

We love this region for its subsistence and recreational opportunities… we bounce between the mountains and the ocean, and enjoy exploring everything in between.
